"Electronic Eye" or "Electronic Police" is a colloquial term for the "Smart Traffic Violation Monitoring and Management System". It was developed in Shenzhen, China in 1997 and has gradually become popular, realizing 24-hour monitoring, capturing vehicle violations, and handling follow-up actions based on the violation information.
Working principle: The surveillance camera uses a sensing wire to sense the pressure from vehicles on the road, collects the signal through a biomimetic electronic eye sensor to the central processing unit, and temporarily stores it in a register (this data is valid within the red light cycle). There are two ways of capture principle, one is to use a sensing wire loop buried underground and install a digital camera on the crossbar to catch red light violations, the other is to install a surveillance camera and use it for real-time video recording of overspeeding, red light violations, illegal parking, etc. In both methods, at least three photos are taken for the violating vehicle, which are a momentary violation photo, a license plate recognition photo, and a panoramic photo. In both methods, it works 24 hours a day, and the image storage period is usually one week.
