Vehicle owners, did you know that traffic violations are recorded like this?

1. Advanced vehicle detection technology and camera capture

It is a kind of early electronic police system, which relies on advanced vehicle detection technology to detect the driving status of vehicles. It consists of vehicle detection sensors, signal status sensors, cameras, a central controller, auxiliary lights, intersection control units, etc. It can catch violating vehicles within the surveillance area, take multiple photos continuously, perform license plate recognition, and generate complete evidentiary data.

However, its limitations include the fact that it can only record violations such as red light violations, but cannot detect and record other violations such as driving the wrong way, crossing the line, changing lanes, etc. Also, due to the fact that the vehicle detection sensors are prone to failure, difficult to repair, and may cause damage to the road due to buried coils, this kind of electronic police system is increasingly used in first-tier cities and has been practically phased out. Therefore, it is important for car owners to have knowledge about this.

2. Electronic surveillance cameras

Compared with the first method, electronic surveillance cameras are more reliable and have a strong real-time monitoring capability. They can catch vehicles passing through the surveillance area and illegal driving behaviors. When a vehicle violates the traffic rules, such as running red lights, driving the wrong way, crossing the line, or changing lanes, the electronic surveillance camera will take multiple photos continuously, and the photo data will be processed by the controller and uploaded to the control center.

It should be noted that electronic surveillance cameras on roads are mainly used to enhance the ability of traffic management, and taking photos is part of the overall traffic management system. Therefore, the main function of electronic surveillance cameras is to provide evidence of violations such as red light violations.

3. Radar microwave speed detection

Radar microwave speed detection transmits microwaves of different frequencies to a vehicle and measures the vehicle's speed based on its reflection time. There are two types of detection methods: fixed and mobile. Mobile types usually include handheld speed measuring radar devices hidden on the side of the road and mobile speed measuring radar devices mounted on police vehicles. This type of speeding detection is usually used on highways, national roads, and peri-urban areas.

Radar speed detection is usually used in conjunction with a camera to take a photo if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit, usually in rapid succession to ensure the vehicle is not hiding anywhere.

4. Infrared and Laser Detection

A laser rangefinder emits a laser beam at a target and records the time difference between the reflected light to determine the distance between the target and the test point. Laser speed measurement measures the target twice with a laser at a specific time interval, calculates the distance the target travels during that period, and obtains the speed of the vehicle. OOSSXX's wireless security camera set surrounds moving subjects such as visitors with a green frame and tracks and records them, and also captures night vision with infrared at night. Using passive infrared sensors and human body shape detection technology, it can only detect objects with thermal characteristics (approximately 37°C / 98.6°F) and filter animal alarms by human body movement. OOSSXX's wireless security camera set supports POE power supply, and POE uses a LAN cable to supply power to the camera while building a network. No AC adapter or power supply work is required, and if you supply power with POE, there is no need to prepare an external power supply separately, and wiring can be done easily and neatly. Equipped with infrared LEDs, it can shoot night vision up to 30m. Supports remote monitoring: Download the app or software on your smartphone and PC. You can remotely monitor anytime, anywhere using your iPhone/Android/Windows PC. You can also add up to 8 devices.

Similar to radar speed detection, it may be difficult to meet the monitoring requirements in crossings, busy roads, and high pedestrian traffic situations. Also, because laser light can have a negative effect on the human eye, this type of equipment must meet international safety standards and require human operation when in use. Currently, its effectiveness may be limited under poor visibility conditions.

5. Are electronic dogs practical?

If you have used an e-dog, you know that it can provide monitoring and speed measurement warnings. But are e-dog warnings reliable? E-dog warnings are based on radar speed detection frequency band recognition, and in theory should be able to recognize all speed measurement radars. However, e-dog data collection and updates are not perfect, so even the best e-dogs may miss warnings, give false warnings, or even cancel warnings.

Additionally, industry navigation experts tell us that e-dogs are highly sensitive to some in-car cruise radar and parking radar frequencies, often falsely flagging these devices as surveillance devices, so we recommend careful consideration when using an e-dog.

OOSSXX provides high-quality smartphone-linked network security cameras, providing customers with convenient and high-performance remote monitoring solutions both indoors and outdoors.
