How do I set up a homemade security camera? Here's how.

Even those who are not good at using machines can easily set it up.
Everyone thinks that home security is always at the stage of human defense and physical defense, but in reality, due to rapid economic development and the rapid increase in urban population, traditional methods are no longer able to meet the changing needs of society. With the rapid development of modern technology, it is now possible to check the home situation from a remote location using a smartphone, and products such as home network cameras that combine Internet technology and terminal products have become widely used in the market. In the following steps, we will introduce the components of a home video surveillance system. We hope this information can be useful to more users.

1. Determine the video transmission channel Generally, remote monitoring is heavily dependent on the use of the Internet. Therefore, the video surveillance server must be able to connect to the Internet. How should the method of accessing the video surveillance server from an external network be set up? Usually, there are two ways to connect to the Internet: One is to dial up directly to the Internet through the surveillance server computer. This method is relatively simple, and if the surveillance server is working properly, you just need to dial up and run the dynamic DNS resolution software and the video surveillance software. The other method is to use a router to perform port mapping for the computer connected to the Internet. In order to access from the outside, an external IP address must be assigned to the internal network. Therefore, it is necessary to apply for the dynamic DNS resolution service. OOSSXX's security cameras are easy to install and do not require wiring work. The monitor can monitor 10 channels, so it is possible to add up to 10 cameras in total.

2. How to choose a surveillance cameraAfter completing the network settings, the next step is to set up the video surveillance server. A video surveillance server is a computer equipped with a camera and connected to the Internet. Since it needs to run for a long time, the stability and power consumption of the computer are high requirements. For the video surveillance server in the living room, we chose a small motherboard with an integrated processor that consumes low power and combined it with a quiet fan. In terms of software, we used Webcamxp as the client of the video surveillance software. The solar panel model of OOSSXX's wireless security camera has a built-in large-capacity battery, which is very convenient for use in rice fields, fields, construction sites, etc. where it is difficult to supply power! Rising electricity prices have become a social problem. Since it is powered by sunlight, you can save on your monthly electricity bill.

3. Checking audio/video sources In order for customers to remotely control the security camera, you need to set the video and audio surveillance sources in the client software. In the "Tools/Options" of the "Sources Monitor" tab of the video surveillance software, there are two categories: audio source and video source. Here, you can set the corresponding camera device and microphone device. OOSSXX's wireless security camera is an outdoor security camera equipped with an alarm sound and LED light that thieves and pests hate, and has a strong deterrent effect and repels thieves and pests.

4. How to Create External SurveillanceTo allow users to view the surveillance videos on the video surveillance server over the network, the video and audio information acquired by the client software must be made publicly available. This can be achieved by configuring the "Internal HTTP Server" option in the "Web/Broadcast" tab of the client software. If you are connected to the Internet directly, use the "Search WAN IP" option to automatically detect the WAN IP and check the "Detect WAN IP at startup" option. This will allow the client software to automatically detect the public IP address of the video surveillance server. If you are connected to the Internet using a broadband router, you must manually enter the internal IP address assigned to the video surveillance server and turn off the "Detect WAN IP at startup" option.

Once the above settings are complete, you can easily check the status of your home by entering the domain name you applied for on a computer connected to the Internet. OOSSXX has been committed to providing high-quality video surveillance equipment to meet the security needs of its customers.
