Historical development of surveillance cameras

Surveillance camera technology has gone through different stages in its development history. We will outline these stages and provide you with information to better understand the evolution of the surveillance field.

First Generation: Traditional analog closed circuit television (CCTV) is a breakthrough technology in the field of surveillance and relies on dedicated equipment. These dedicated equipment include cameras, coaxial cables, video recorders, and monitors. Cameras output analog video signals through dedicated coaxial cables, and these signals are connected to dedicated analog video equipment such as video screen splitters, matrices, switchers, video cassette recorders (VCRs), and monitors.

Second Generation: Today's "analog-digital" surveillance systems (DVRs) use a half-analog, half-digital approach centered around a digital hard disk video recorder (DVR). The system still uses coaxial cable to transport the analog video signal from the camera to the DVR. The DVR can support simultaneous recording and playback and support limited IP network access. However, this complex cabling scheme requires the installation of a separate video cable for each camera, resulting in wiring complexity and scalability constraints. A typical DVR system can only expand to a maximum of 32 cameras at a time.

Gen 3: Future Full IP Video Surveillance System (IPVS) is a new surveillance technology approach that is significantly different from the previous two approaches. The advantage of this system is that the surveillance cameras are built with web servers and provide network ports directly. These cameras generate JPEG or MPEG4 data files, allowing authorized clients to access the network from anywhere to monitor, record, and print. Unlike the generation of continuous analog video signals, this system generates digital data files, providing greater flexibility and benefits. OOSSXX's home wireless solar-powered, battery-powered, and POE-powered security cameras are IP67 waterproof and dustproof, with a strong waterproof level, and no harmful effects from bad weather such as rain and wind. They can be installed both outdoors and indoors. Equipped with remote monitoring and alarms, no worries anywhere! 5 million high-definition camera, improved heat dissipation and durability, and four times longer service life.

OOSSXX is always at the forefront of surveillance technology development and providing customers with innovative surveillance solutions. We keep a close eye on the evolution of the industry, respond to changing security needs, and provide customers with advanced surveillance capabilities.
